ED 63, sheet 10 - 398 Lenox Ave. Covey, Rufus May 1876 24 NY CA NY (married 4 yrs) Jennie Mar 1879 21 NY CA NY mother of 2 ch, 1 living) Ramond Jan 1899 1 Ca NY NY (entered US 1899, alien) This would be Rufus Melvin COVEY, b. 3 May 1876 s/o William COVEY & Adelia WELLS, and his wife Jennie Minnie COVEY. Raymond Rufus COVEY, b. 29 Jan 1899. Appears that their dau Alice Adelle COVEY, b. 28 Aug 1897 died before 1900. Also -- John COVEY, b. c1853 s/o Gilbert Yearns COVEY (b. 1817) and wf Julie CAYEZ/CAYER appears to have died before 1900 or left his family. John married Della BOLAND before 1889 and they moved to MA. Only known son that I had was Gilbert b. ca 1891. Appears that in 1900, at the "orphan asylum" at 183 Maple St in Lawrence, Essex Co, MA there were Arthur COVEY b. c1889, ae 11; Gilbert, b. c1891, ae 9 and Ernie/Emir?? COVEY, b. ca 1893, ae 7 yrs. There was a little girl, Nora COVEY, b. May 1896, ae 4, th eadopted dau, living with Adolph BOLAND at 209 Broadway St in Lawrence. It woul dseem that Della BOLAND died in childbirth with Nora in 1896, or shortly thereafter, and Della's parents took in the infant, and the three boys were left at an orphanage. More research is needed to find info on the other two sons, Arthur and Ernie/Emir [or perhaps Emile].....
