I happened to run across this when I was looking at Probate Records for the Manchester District in Bennington Co, VT. Vol. 9 p. 233 - 3 July 1822 Matthew COVEY estate; Elizabeth COVEY of Sandgate, widow of deceased Matthew COVEY, late of Sandgate, appeared before court to be granted Letters of Administration; Joshua FRENCH & James WHEATON ordered to appraise the estate & to set off widows thirds. p. 234 Elizabeth COVEY appointed quardian to Aaron COVEY about 13 years of age & John Covey about 8 years of age; Elizabeth COVEY & Eli MATTETT? of Manchester posted bond. p. 342 Matthew COVEY estate: 2 April 1823 heirs: Martha COVEY, Aaron COVEY, and John COVEY, each to receive one share.
