It reveals even more, but I will save that for another way. Ezekiel Cady was one of the supporting affidavits for Hannah. There is no list of the children of James and Mary. People assume there is because they're listed in a family group sheet in Quist's book. She clearly states what her source is: (a) the August 1844 Nauvoo Temple Baptism for the Dead performed by Benjamin Covey; and (b) the Rev War Pension file of Joseph Covey. Yes, that's the same Joseph Covey who provided a supporting affidavit for Hannah. Yes, he lived in Willett, Cortland County. And his pension application contains a supporting affidavit of his brother Hope Covey. The reasoning in Quist's family group sheets is that Joseph should be added to the list of Benjamin's (b.1792) uncles, because Hope Covey who was Benjamin's uncle is the same person as gave the supporting affidavit for Joseph's pension application. I agree with this. Hannah was not dead in 1844, so there would be no way for her nephew to perform a proxy Baptism for the Dead naming his deceased aunt, as she was not deceased yet. So there is no need to make her into a different person. She was not dead in 1844. That is the only list there is, the 1844 Baptism. I also believe one, possibly two, other siblings belong in that group of siblings. My Johnsons were from Connecticut, but moved through New York State beginning sometime between 1790 and 1800, ending up in Wash. Co. OH in the late 18-teens. I'm descended from Kingsbury Covey, who lived in Chenango County and in Cayuga County, NY before moving to Wash. Co OH at the same time as his son-in-law. You can always tell who has done their research and who has not when you see people say that Kingsbury Covey was born in Moravia, anytime from 1715 to 1775. All of those times are impossible. Moravia was wilderness and Indian territory until nearly 1800. Jim
