Hi List: Does anyone out there have any information on NIXON COVEY and both his descendents and antecedents? I can't figure out how that rascal got here. Nixon Covey Born: 1791 in Maryland Died: 1879 The most of what I have are decendents of Jeremiah Covey who was born in 1844 and died in 1919 in Irvine Kentucky. I looked over the Pennington Familys Page, you know, the one I told you about at: http://members.aol.com/BoardStock/index.html , and found some information to pass on. Melinda Pennington would tell you that these stats are not written in stone; some has been documented, others, submitted by researchers. What I found is: James COVEY, the son of Kingsbury and Mary Polly (BENNETT) COVEY, was born 1786 in Pulaski Co., VA, married Sally KELSEY 19 Oct 1810 in Montgomery Co., VA, he died 1870 in Caldwell Co., TX. James & Sally had a son named Joseph COVEY, Joseph was born 1818 in TN, married Maria M. CORBELL 1845 in Harrison Co., TX, he died 4 Jul 1894 in Caldwell Co., TX. -- * Joseph served in the Civil War in McCords Calvary Regiment.-- Sincerely, Larry

Hello Paul and List, There was a Luther Covey, Lebanon WI, enlisted Feb., 22 1864 in the Seventh Regiment Infantry WI, Civil War. He was killed May 5 1864 ,Wilderness, VA. This info comes from the roster of Wisconsin Volunteers. At this point I don't know who he belongs to. Sue (WI & MN Covey)
I received the following information from a 'look up volunteer' in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Henry W, Lynn, and Daraxa are in my line. I'm not sure about the others but thought I would pass this along for whatever it is worth. Paul In our Cemetery listings I found in the Burdick Cemetery, Town of Rushford, Winnebago County, Covey's listed: Covey, Lucius d. Jan 22, 1871 age 17 Henry W. 1831-1903 Lynn b. Jan 30, 1904 d. April 8, 1915 I did not find anything on Sarah or Nehemiah. The only newspaper reference I found was in the Omro Weekly Journal dated Sep 14, 1876 listing "Four deaths in our Town" all it said was child of Henry Covey, this was listed Township of Eureka. Re: Samuel Covey Mary was born in 1809 My Aaron Covey was born in 1808 (Sandgate, Bennington Co., VT No Samuel in the previous generation only John, Ason, Jerome L. and Jay. His son Jerome L. had a son Sammy. I have very little on this family.

I have two conflicting records: one records her birth as 1802 in Alburg, VT, and the place of her marriage as Clanceville, PQ; the other, born 1800 in Noyan, PQ., married in Noyan, PQ. Since we have had a dash of renewed interest in the list, I was checking over a few things and noticed that I had, inadvertantly, left off all the descendants of Gene Olmstead of MI. Dear Asa & List, As a means of introduction, because I�m handicapped and most of the places housing old records are not handicapped accessible, I am more of a compiler than a researcher, in other words, I take data that others gather that I am fortunate enough to have sent to me and try to link it with other data in my records. It sometimes contains primary sources and many times only the researcher�s name. If I receive conflicting data, I attempt to verify the most accurate source and record it, if I cannot verify which piece of information is correct, I record both. My dream, like Rita Ackerman our esteemed editor of �Covey Cousins�, is to have a complete data base w/documentation of the COMPLETE Covey line.
