Hi Denise, I have quite a bit on this family in the computer. I'll make some copies for you as soon as I get a chance. I'm also printing your other query and will check on that. I'm not sure off hand if they are the same people. Denise: This is all I have on this rascal plus I show that he is a twin to Joseph. I don't seem to have much luck with my JOHN COVEY type folks. I guess spreading the word made the site too busy because they now have a password on the site. Honest, it *did* work last night. Content: I was successful in looking up some things in the Family History Library Catalog. There was also a place to look up Ancestral File entries, however, it didn't seem to be linked yet as it kept giving a "not available" message (for people I knew were in the AF). Someone else mentioned the same problem with IGI. There were also lots of other links via catagories. Didn't seem like those catagories were to stuff of their own, but just providing links. The site started slowing down a lot so I wasn't able to experiment too much. Point is, this is going to be great once they finish their evaluations and refinements. -- Kathryn Rhinehart Bassett (Pasadena CA) kathryn.bassett@switchboard.net "Genealogy is my bag" "GH is my soap" http://pw2.netcom.com/~kathrynb/kathryn.htm ICQ World-Wide-Pager address http://wwp.mirabilis.com/17663458

I only have a few pages from Quist's book and need to know more about the John Covey mentioned on p.15 as the son of James Covey and Sarah Lamphere. Quist states that John Covey was md to Martha Burdick ---can anyone tell me more about this couple? Where did they live? Who were their children? Did they stay in RI? thanks! Denise Sallee

I recently run across the town name in England of "Braintree/Covey". I know that Braintree exists and that Braintree, MA was named for it. My question is, "Where did the Braintree/Covey come from?". Can anyone shed any light on this? Bill Covey Author of: Watson Is Where It Wuz http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Station/3265/Welcome.html

Hi: I am picking up a little information here and there so if anyone wants any information from me just let me know. I heard from London today and hopefully I will have the baptismal records of JAMES COVEY, WILLIAM COVEY and JOHN COVEY soon. That will back us up one more generation if all goes well. Noble COVEY listed in the 1783 Caroline Co MD Tax Assessment List. In 1793 he married in Guilford Co NC Does anyone know of his whereabouts between 1783 and 1793 ? I have checked the 1790 census in MD NC and VA with no luck. Any help is appreciated. My many thanks, Jo
I have opened a new web page on which will be COVEY information if I ever overcome this terminal case of ignorance. For some reason or the other I simply cannot upload the file, nor can I cut and paste the information from a report. One day soon...hopefully.
