Hi Everyone,, I have a picture on the Giles site, that I'd like for everyone to take a look at and see if you can help me identify who they are and if they fit into your Covey family. My grandfather was called "BUD" BUT IT ISN'T MY BUD COVEY. Can anyone help? Write to me at my e-mail or my address, which is Mildred Cast 504 Leslie Dr. Del City,Ok. 73115 Thanks, Mildred
I am interested in finding more information on a Matthew COVEY who may have been born about 1804 in New York. Potential parents are a John and Sally or Phally COVEY. Matthew married Eunice SCRIVEN in Albany, Bradford, Pennsylvania, on 31 Jan 1836. She apparently died before 1840. On the 1840 Census Matthew is a widower head of family with 2 children Walterh and Unis both born in New York about 1837-1838. This 1840 Census was in Renssalaer County, New York. Any further enlightenment would be great. Thanks, Ed Scriven

Covey is shown on a 1869 Beers map of Clinton Twp., Clinton Co., New York as living east of Churubusco & Clinton Mills on a piece of property located north of Clinton Mills Road. Would like to confirm if this was Charles Wesley Covey, son of John Young Covey & Roxanna Hunter. Are any of his descendents out there in Internet Land? Would like to make contact. Thanks! Calvin.

Adeline is shown in the 1870 Census of Clinton Twp., Clinton Co., New York as living with Zephaniah Grimshaw as housekeeper. Four children were with them: Barbara - 8, Orison - 6, Henry - 4, Samuel 2. Would like to know the circumstances under which she died & where she is buried. Born 12 June 1833. Died 5 Jan 1881. Would like information about the four children, as they appeared to be adopted, Barbara & Orison at least, by families in Canada. Thanks! Calvin
Posted on: COVEY Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/c/o/COVEY/queries/24 Surname: Covey, Crandall, Darnielle, Reed, Scott ------------------------- When names were hand written, the "V" in Covey often looked like an "R". Also, many names were mispelled by census takers. My ancestor was Alpheus Covey, and he was in Pittsown, Rennselar Co., NY in 1810 & 1820. I know nothing more about him, except that he had son Alpheus Covey.
Posted on: COVEY Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/c/o/COVEY/queries/22 Surname: COVEY, RICHARDS, MCFARLAND, FOSTER ------------------------- I recently located a Henry CAREY (I believe my gggfather) in the 1850 Census for St. Lawrence County, New York. It lists his father as Lucius Carey age 47, and the other members by first name only followed by ditto marks for the last name. These include; Harriet age 37, Henry age 19, Deroxy age 17, Christopher C. age 5, Amanda age 2. Below them, but in the same household, is listed a Nathan COVEY age 42. Now I am almost certain that this 'Henry' is my gggfather, who went by the name COVEY as did all of his children, but I am not familiar with CAREY being a spelling variant. Has anyone run into this name variant while searching their COVEY lines. If anyone has any additional information on this family I would be most grateful to hear from you.
Seeking any and all info on Richard COVY of Somerset Co MD. Purchased 100 acres "Covy Purchase" in Annamessex Hundred, surveyed 1 Mar 1688. I believe he is one of my COVEYs but have had no luck making a connection. Thanks for any help. Jo

I recently discovered that I am descended from the Coveys of Westerly, RI. The LDS database has some sketchy information about the Coveys to whom I am related, for example: James COVEY b. about 1635, England d. September 5, 1712 - Westerly (buried at Westerly) If anyone has any additional information about this branch of Coveys, I'd be delighted to hear from you cousins. Thanks. Janie Williams
