    3. I am looking for any information on the Ancestors of Matilda Covey. She married Jonathon Folsom around 1820 and probably in or near Herkimer, NY as their son Daniel A. Folsom was born there 14 Jan 1822. Any information on these people and their ancestors would be greatly appreciated. ~Bill Williams

Her parents were Abner Vine Covey and Margaret Francis Carey. She had three son by her lst marriage. Abner Hamilton who was my grandfather,Orville, and Frank. Her second marriage to Charles Nulick show Lewis, Enid, and Richard. They were born in Oklahoma. I have them on the 1900 Fed Census in Wichita, Kansas. I am interested in her lst marriage as well as her lineage. Any help would be appreciated.

He appeared with his wife, Jerusha (ALLEN) COVEY, and children on the 1850 U.S. Census for NY, Washington, Kingsbury, p.214. In 1858 he was convicted of raping his daughter and was sentenced to life imprisonment. After 20 years, his sentence was commuted to time served, and he was released.

    3. While sorting papers I found a note taken from the Iowa Gen. Society's publication "Hawkeye Heritage" in 1993. It states that among the early settlers of Iowa there was a Hiram Covey born 1844 in NY. I know nothing else about this, so please don't ask. I thought it might give a clue to anyone looking for a Hiram Covey from NY. Carol in Florida
