    3. Pam, In answer to your message of 1 Jan 1998 where you wrote: >Is the Rufus Melvin COVEY you mention the one I have as Rufus >COVEY b. c1876 s/o William COVEY and Adelia WELLS? Do you >have a full date on him? Who was his wife, Jennie Minnie COVEY?<< The Rufus Melvin COVEY is the same one you have listed. His stats are; Rufus Melvin Covey - born 3 May 1876 at Moores, Clinton County, NY, 6th child of William COVEY& Fanny Adelia WELLS. Rufus was married 19 Aug 1896 to his first cousin, Jennie Minnie COVEY at Ellenburg Corners, Clinton County, NY. ( Jennie was the daughter of Hiram Barzilla COVEY, Williams brother). All 10 of their children were born in NYS before the year of 1919 at which time they all relocated to VT. Rufus died 25 Dec. 1952 at Northfield, Washington County, VT from a Myocardial Infarction & general Arteriosclerosis. He was interned at Mount Hope Cemetery, Northfield Center, Washington County, VT. This research/information was provided to me by Alyce Ronzo, the blood niece of Rufus, as per interviews with her mother Eunice Tucker (granddaughter of William COVEY), interviews with Grace Page & Lyle Covey, (children of Rufus) and entries in COVEY family Bible made by Jennie Minnie COVEY. If you or anyone else has questions (or information) on Rufus Melvin COVEY/Jennie Minnie COVEY PLEASE contact me at: lb3825@aol.com or via the COVEY List. Larry.

    1. Desc of Samuel COVEY c1755-1822, please read!
    2. Pam or Christian Waugh
    3. Hi, Folks! It's been a long time since I have corresponded with many of you, but I wanted to let you know I thought it was high time we were able to compare notes, dates, desc, etc. so we could argue through descrepancies and get our sources straight. I have been in the process of moving my web stuff from one server to another, but I have just started "The Desc of Samuel Covey". I have played around and around, going from one gedcom to html converter to another. Still not satisfied. I have finally come down to the idea that I will upload it, generation by generation in Genealogy report formatting...still working on Register, vs Modified, etc. Within a day or two, I hope to ask you to visit after putting up the first two generations or so. Don't want to waste a lot of time working on the whole thing, only to tear it all down again. I'm really running into problems finding a way to show sources... Anyway -- There are MANY of us out here, and I just ran into two more this week. We really need to pull it all together. If any of you have any any ideas, please send them - either to me directly or to the list. I know many of the subscribers are not Samuel desc, but if they have linked up with others, they could do the same here. We simply need to remember to put Samuel Desc in the subject line, or whatever. Then those not interested in that line, can hit the ol' delete key. Hoping to hear from some of you - Pam ******************************************************************** Pam Wood Waugh, 730 Dunhill Drive, Orlando, FL 32825 (407)275-8514 ******************************************************************** Email: moodies@magicnet.net(home) or waughp@ocps.k12.fl.us(work) Eastern Townships of Quebec genealogy page: http://www.magicnet.net/~moodies/et2.html My Family Lines: http://www.magicnet.net/~moodies "I think that I shall never see, a finished genealogy"

    2. Elton or Bonnie Lacey just sent out a nice listing of descendants of James Couvey, born about 1615. I have been researching this line for several years and have never run across a reference to this James (everything seems to start with the Lacey's 2nd generation). Can anyone send me the sources or references that refer to this original James? How about references to the wives - Mary Cossyne, Mary Mumford and Mary LNU? I have only seen 1 very tentative reference to Mumford as a wife, and none for the other two. Thanks for the help. Asa K. Gage (asak@aol.com)
