Looking for anyone out there who has firmly placed Henry COVEY b. 1809, d. 1867 Franklin Ctr, Huntingdon County, Quebec and married Susan ? before 1833? They had children: Adeline 1833, Samuel 1836, Enos 1838, Benjamin 1840 and Ethel 1844 Many years ago I had info on this Henry, but I cannot locate it now. A guess might be Enos (b. 1782) and wife Saloma, who had at least Lucinda in 1822 - the only child I have for this couple. Suggestions please! My ancestor was George Washington Covey (1824-1916). He had brother Uriah (1832-1909). George went to WA, and Uriah to CA. Their parents were Alpheus Covey (C1802-1842) & Paulina Crandall (C1803-?). The families were in NY, Ohio, MO,CA, & OR. Possible Alpheus' father was another Alpheus. Need proof. There is possiblity my Coveys descended from James Covey in MA in 1640 & then RI. Sorry, folks. I had posted that James COVEY married Mary SALWAY on 11 April 1823 in a previous note -- That is incorrect. My biggest problem is now trying to figure out why I had input that date into my database....I mean, what record in there should have been 11 April?? :) Anyway - The correct date is 4 November 1823. James was noted as a widower of Noyan, and Mary was of Delery. Her brother Dominick SALWAY was present at the time of the marriage. Good thing we have a bunch of folks on this list!!! All the more reason I want to the get the first three generations of the descendants of Samuel COVEY out on the web! We can all make mistakes when entering info hour after hour -- what better way than to have others scrutinize it and question what you have!? I need to hurry! Larry - James is most definitely a son of Samuel COVEY, Sr, born about 1781. He was baptised at age 19 in Montreal on 5 May 1800. He married 1st Elizabeth ?, who died before 1823, 2nd Mary SALWAY 11 Apr 1823 at Noyan, and 3rd he m. Catherine SCRIVER who died 14 Dec 1850 at Hinchenbrooke, PQ ae 78 yrs. He had at least 8 children by Elizabeth and at least one son by Mary. At least going by my records :) Hopefully, I will have the website with Sam COVEY's children and grandchildren up within a short time. If I would stop bringing work home, I might have time to do something I really want! There aren't enough hours in the day.
