    1. [Cork] Owen KEIRAN/Mollie MURPHY
    2. Looking for info on my g g grandparents Owen KEIRAN and Mollie MURPHY. They were from County Cork and County Louth, but I'm not sure who was from which county. They married at St. Michael's Church in Ireland, with the Rev. M. Powers officiating on 1 July 1867. They came to America on their honeymoon, settled in the Louisville, KY area and had twelve children, several of whom died at an early age. My g grandfather, Edward James KEIRAN (b. 1 Nov 1878) was the seventh child. I don't have birth or death dates, names of parents or siblings, the name of the ship they travelled on or the port of entry, or anything else. If any of this is familiar to you please contact me. I'd be happy to share information on later family members. Thanks in advance. Lynn

    3. Lynn You didn't say which St Michael, there must be thousands in Ireland. It was usual for a couple to be married in the church of the brides family, but given that her name was Murphy that doesn't help narrow it down much. There was a Maurice Power who was PP in Killeagh at that time but as Killeagh has no St Michael and his name is Power not Powers, then it is probably not the right place. Given that you have both surnames the best course would be to check the 1867 index for the civil registration of marriages, note down every Owen Keiran in both Cork and Louth, then look for a matching Murphy. You can do all this at your local mormon FHC, they also have the register entries for that year.
