    3. I posted this once before and didn't get a response, but I'm persistent. I'm desperately trying to find the origin of the name "Zitizus". I have a relative from the Kinsale, County Cork, region who was born in 1876. He was named Frank Zitizus McCarthy. I can find no reference anywhere to "Zitizus" ever being a surname anywhere. If I google it, the closest I can find is that it might be a word (possibly an adverb) in the Gaelic Basque language. I already have someone of Basque heritage trying to decipher the name going that route, but so far all he has found is that "zitizu" is possibly a helping verb of an old language. This doesn't explain how it ended up being someone's middle name. I have Frank's 1918 U.S. draft registration card, where he clearly filled out his full name, so I know I'm spelling it correctly. Any random thoughts or leads? ____________________________________________________________________________________ Have a burning question?
