    1. Re: [COUNTYCORK] LYONS family

    3. Although I don't have Lyons in my family I thought that I'd just add this in case anyone was researching the name in Cheshire or North Wales UK. My late Grandfather who was Irish ( Smith, Flynn, Gough,Coleman, O'Brien, ) in UK had a best friend called Joseph Lyons. . Joseph borrowed the money from my Grandfather to start a small business. He ended up with one of the largest Holiday Camp businesses in UK. The Lyons Holiday Camp in Rhyl , North Wales was one of the largest in it's kind in UK after WW2. I do remember as a child in the 1950's going to visit them when some of them lived in 'Romany' caravans, I was excited by this as a small child. Some of the family still live here in North Wales and the camp is now re-vampt as a caravan park. Hope this might help someone. PS My Grandfather, unlike this pal, ended up 'broke', too many trips to Ireland after the booze and the horses!
