Hello everyone I've recently obtained some new information about my families so I am all raring to go again. This is what I know at this point - MARY HURLEY born 1853 in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland - my greatgrandmother My greatgrandmother, Mary Hurley born 1853, was the daughter of Daniel Hurley and Miss Lehane (I have Kate on Mary's baptismal certificate but another researcher has her mother as Mary). My GGmother said she was born in Bantry. Daniel married second Nora Gilheany maybe between 1863 and 1870. By the first wife he had Mary, Catherine, Jane, Nellie and Jerry. Jerry is said to have had two sons and 6 dtrs. One son was named Gerald and he had two daughters. Another son might have been named Vincent. Four of elder Jerry's children became teachers. By the second wife he had Bridget, Anastasia "Annie", Helena, Nora, Elizabeth and Michael "Mickey". I am told that Daniel built a pub in 1840 and he also had a 30 acre farm. The son Michael ran the pub in later years and then a neice of only 20 carried on after him. I do know that I have relations still there as someone I spoke to said that they had met them when they went to Ireland. I would very much like to find these relations and I hope that someone can help. Thank you P.S. Anastasia had a son named Christopher (surname unknown) My greatgrandmother immigrated to the United States and subsequently she and my greatgrandfather James Howell (her 2nd husband) immigrated to and lived the rest of their lives in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada..
