If you are searching for information on someone transported to Australia, check the National Archives of Ireland transportation database to get the date of the trial and then look in newspapers of that locale and date for details. If it was a homicide or manslaughter also look for reports of an inquest. Most court cases, both civil and criminal, would have been reported in detail in The Cork Examiner, but if the case was lurid enough, or otherwise of interest, it could be reported in the Dublin or Belfast papers or even The Times (of London), the latter being searchable online at some Libraries and archives or look for Palmer's Index to The Times (1790-1905) on a CD-ROM.
