Good Evening, I am researching my grandmother's family from Ireland. Her father was Patrick DESMOND born in Canada in the 1840's. His father was Dennis DESMOND born about 1820 in Ireland. I do not know much about this family. My grandmother was left an orphan when she was 4 years old. Dennis DESMOND was married to Margarette ?. They had three children born in Canada. Patrick, Ellen, and little Margarette. By 1850 they were in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dennis and Patrick were blacksmiths. Dennis was living in the Little Sisters of the Poor when he was in his 70's. Records from them gave his parents names as Patrick DESMOND and Ellen or Helen O'DONNELL. The family is buried in St.Joseph Cemetery. I have found other DESMONDS buried there from County Cork. I imagine that's where Dennis was from. Anyone else researching this family? Thanks for any help. Janet
