    3. of course it was a light hearted comment. I too spend a great deal of transcribing and trawling through old newspapers world wide , and would hate to think what would happen if my accumulation was added to the list. I was really impressed with the dedication of building the archives. Being a bit of a collector and archivist - as a matter of interest, I have just purchased the Heritage Collection Soft ware, and am gradually adding all those items to it. It is a program which accepts any digital photos or scans as well as Word or PDF docs, video, audios etc and is akin to what museums use (only smaller scale) to record all the items in their collection. Nothing is too small or too large. You create a series of collections - and I am building those for each of the family branches. At present am doing all the old stuff but will eventually get on to making up-to-date collections for grandchildren. It is very quick to use, don't need to cut or paste, and full documents are easily accepted eg - eg book size family stories. It also accepts movies and audio records but I haven't delved into that yet. It means that if you have your ancestor on photo, film, audio, and family history, family tree (in word - doesn't take geds) and any downloads from the net you care to add - then you have all of it in the one collection. you can add Google earth pics, maps, whatever. I am having so much fun and just learning to use it. Hope this is useful, can give more detail if anyone is interested.
