Hello Bethane - the Griffiths Valuation of Ireland, taken between 1847 and 1864 (roughly) has no KILLIANs in Co Cork that I can see. Similarly the IGI search brings up no entries for Co Cork. The name seems to be centred largely in Roscommon, Longford and Galway, with a few in West Meath and a few more in Ulster. You might like to have a look if you haven't already: http://www.failteromhat.com/ is a good site for the Griffiths, just go to Census/Directories and scroll down. I didn't see any likely entries in the LDS 1880 US census - have you located them in that year?
