    3. Your story is wonderful. You are lucky not to be searching for records prior to 1864. You actually have a lot of info there. You might find some dead ends, however. There are Irish families where one or more of the branches went to Australia, Canada or the States. Others went to priesthood or married and had a lot of children or somehow fell off the grid. That has been my experience, at any rate. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Mizzi" <mmizzi@dodo.com.au> To: <countycork@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 4:03 AM Subject: Re: [CO CORK] Julia Ann Mahoney's mother > Hi Barb, > > Just looked at Thomas Hooley and Julia Ann Mahoney marriage certificate. > > This is how it reads. > > 1888 Marriage solemnized at St. Peters in the district of Cardiff in the > counties of Glamorgan and Monmouth. > > No When married Name & surname age condition Rank or > Profession residence Fathers name & Rank or Profession > 59 7th January 1888 Thomas Hooley 25 Bachelor Labourer > 38 Cairns St Thomas Hooley Labourer > > Cathays > Julia Ann Mahoney 21 > ter ------ 8 The Walk, James Mahoney Labourer > > Cardiff (deceeased) > Married at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church Cardiff. > > In the presence of Lawrence Joyce and Elizabeth Hooley. > > Elizabeth Hooley was the sister of Thomas. > > This is all I know about my grandmother Julia Ann, She died in 1903 in > tragic circumstances. > > They had several chldren Ellen b.1889,; James 1900 c. died; > Thomas > Patrick b 1894 (my father); Timothy b.1899 and Catherine b.1900 and died > 1901. > > There was a Julia Ann Mahoney I started looking at who was a twin but born > in Wales and she was from a big family.
