John is said to have died, in Ireland, before Catherine, with daughter, Elizabeth and a son, came to South Australia in 1864 on the "Rockliffe". My great-great-great-grandmother, Catherine Hyde came on the "South Seas" with her sister, Ellen Hyde in 1855. Catherine Hyde worked in the Myponga area for a couple of years before marrying, William Whitbread. They lived at Waitpinga and had 9 of their 11 children there. They came to Port Pirie - Wandearah and farmed for a time before moving to Ardrossan, SA. I would like to know what part of County Cork they came from. Julie.
