Their children all came to South Australia and settled in the Mt. Gambier, Waitpinga, Port Pirie areas over time. John is said to have died, in Ireland, before Catherine, with daughter, Elizabeth and a son, came to South Australia in 1864 on the "Rockliffe". My great-great-great-grandmother, Catherine Hyde came on the "South Seas" with her sister, Ellen Hyde in 1855. Catherine Hyde worked in the Myponga area for a couple of years before marrying, William Whitbread. They lived at Waitpinga and had 9 of their 11 children there. They came to Port Pirie - Wandearah and farmed for a time before moving to Ardrossan, SA. I would like to know what part of County Cork they came from. Julie.
