But I think I can tell you a bit about the current status of the townland. It's located about 6 miles SE of Mitchelstown. The townland contained about 15 buildings as of 1973 (don't have a clue about today), and is a very elongated townland. It runs about 3 miles north to south, between the Tipp. border at the top and the Araglin River at the bottom. The east-west width averages about a half mile (a little fatter at the southern end - about 3/4 mile - where a church of unspecified denomination is located.) The elevation at the northern end of the townland is nearly 1000 feet, and at the southern end, I'd guess the Araglin is only 50 feet or so above sea level. I have a URL pencilled-in on my Townland Index map. Let me see if it works. If so, it might be of interest to you. OK, the Murray Family have changed their website and it could take a bunch of searching. But, at least the URL gets to their general URL. I'll leave it to others to try to sort-out the Townland Index Map from the site. Anyway, here's the original URL (which will work to get you partway there): >> www.murrayfamily.org/1935_townland_index_map.htm << If you can find it, it is identical to the Ordnance Survey map I used to give you the above information (together with Discovery Map 74).
