I have been on and off many lists in the past ten years, and am currently on at least six. I have noticed that presently on most lists there are only a question or two per day. Surely we have not all found 'all the answers'. It would seem to me that if everyone did more posting of questions or relevant items of interest to most list participants, which include names and locations we would all stand a better chance of making connections with others who share our interests as to time and place in addition to names. For example, I was born and raised in San Francisco, had many relatives and friends who were and are Irish or Irish connected. Would there be any interest on this list, if I were to post old obituaries which gave Co. Cork, and sometimes specific locations in Co Cork, to the list. For instance, my grandmother's death notice in 1965, stated originally that she was "from Drimoleague, Co Cork, Ireland" and then listed sisters and brothers who survived her and their locations at that time. Surely there many other areas where the Irish congregated in large numbers, and wouldn't it be great if other people with access to old newspapers did this too. Wouldn't this be helpful to a good number of people if many of us did this? Would that be an acceptable use of this list? And would the list mom find this suitable? How say you all?
