Greetings to genealogists in County Cork from one in N.Z. My Gt.Grandmother, Catherine HENNESSY, born Kanturk 1832, died1912 in Wellington N.Z. Her parents were Richard HENNESSY [ farmer ] and Mary Ann GLOVER. I have always understood that she was "transported" to Australia where in 1859 she married William Dix BARNES at Ballarat. In spite of many years research in Australia and Ireland, I can find no reference to her on any convict listings and as a last resort am wondering if she had any siblings left in Ireland whose decendants may be able to solve the mystery.
