I am researching the name SLINEY,(Slaney) a rare Cork name, with origins in the Barony of Imokilly, mainly in the area of the Middleton Poor Law Union. There seem to be a high proportion of mariners amongst them. I am interested in any references to the name in the general area. If anyone has any indexes/resources that they are prepared to look up, I would be very grateful for any information prior to 1850's(Griffiths). Negative results would also be helpful.
