I am new to this list. I realize this is if not a ridiculous querie a challenging one. (When I ran a querie on James Wall here in Massachusetts I got 10 pages of responses) But I'm making it. My great grandfather arrived here in Boston sometime before 1860. In 1860 he was working as a stonecutter and he Married an Annie Barrett. By 1864 Annie Barrett married someone else...(Wrong death report? Loneliness? I won't go there. How awful was it to be under 25 in a strange land with no one to give you a hug?) I'm thinking he went off to war with the Massachusetts 11th Infantry. (Civil War) He remarried in 1869. Maria Finneran. If anyone has any information on them I would love to share. It is my understanding from family legend that James haled from County Cork. His parents were Patrick and Mary. Lots of help, right? :-) Just happens to be the largest county in Ireland. Seems to be the most popular name in Ireland too! I hope someone who reads this can help me narrow the parameter! s a bit. BTW, our son went to Ireland when he was 14 as part of the Student Ambassador program. He loved it. You were so good to our children. Thank you.
