Dear Friends, My great grandfather John F. Goggin, born June 05, 1844 in Co. Cork was the son of a Goggin and (mother) a Mangan. John came to Cleveland, Ohio in 1868 as a marble cutter. He worked for the Rockefellers on their estate as a lamplighter during the first mini depression. Can anyone tell me where in County Cork I might search for these families? Several of his children returned to County Cork in the 1920's and did not find any family, however the grandchildren admit that their parents weren't sure where in Cork to look.
