Dear Elizabeth I have a convict that was sent out to Tasmania named Catherine Danahy( and various other variations over the years) from County Cork. On her convict record it states she had a sister Ellen. She was sent out to Tasmanina(Van Diemen's Land up to 1853) in 1847 and was 20 at the time. It says a surname for Ellen which is not the same as Catherine but I will have to enlarge it as it is very poor writing. Do you want me to send you a picture of the surname and see if it is the same, two sets of eyes might be better than one if the dates fit. It would be a great breakthrough if these were sisters as the convict records are good after they arrived in Australia but not very good in Ireland. It does not state the town only Cork but says Ellen was at her native place. Hope to hear some good news from your end Pam Calverley Canberra Australia _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
