Dear All, Does anyone have a Teresa in their family born in Cork 1836 or 1837? She may be my great grandmother if :- a) she married a soldier called James Jarrett about 1858 b) she had children Louisa Jarrett b ~ 1858/9, William Jarrett b ~ 1860/1, Jane Jarrett b ~ 1866/7 all in Cork but we don't know if city or county; and Teresa b ~ 1868/9 according to the 1881 census, in "England" (no county or town) c) she was a widow in 1881 living with the children in Salford, Lancashire. Family legend says that James Jarrett was killed in India, but we can find no mention of him whatsoever. We would love to hear from anybody who could suggest Teresa's maiden name, or even advise us on tracing James Jarrett who probably was in one of the Cork military establishments during the 1850s & 60s Thankyou from their great grandson John.
