    3. I recently had a letter returned as "undeliverable" from an address I had used successfully in the past for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to obtain employment files of deceased relatives. I wrote to the OPM Freedom of Information Act office and received the following (very prompt) response: ---- To request Federal personnel records you should write to one of the following addresses: Civilian Records National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) 111 Winnebago Street St. Louis, MO 63118 (USA) Military Records National Personnel Records Center (Military) 9700 Page Street St. Louis, MO 63132 (USA) Information you will need to provide: Signed request Social Security Number Last agency (and location) Dates of Federal employment or date left Federal service ---- I would also suggest that you add your relationship to the former employee, date of death (and evidence) and the fact that your request is for genealogical purposes. I've had great success with OPM in the past, including receiving a copy of my mother's Navy Yard application (with references and close friends) and her resignation letter. (She resigned, she said, to raise her baby boy Tommy!)
