Seeking forebears of John ARKINS who came to Victoria, Australia c1839 as a 10 year old. On 5 birth certificates he claimed to have from Co Cork. John married in 1855, Catherine HENRY, in Maitland NSW, Australia. Names of the 1st two boys: John Charles and Thomas Henry. There was also a William John. John's big interest was training race horses. I'd like to hear from someone who knew of any Arkins in Co Cork.... I think they were pretty thin on the ground. Regards, Mary shortis@spot.com.au
