Hello, I've just joined this List. My 3 x great grandmother was Mary RAGAN. Born c1798 in Cork (not sure if City or County) - this information is from English censuses. She married James LIDDY, date & place unknown - possibly Ireland? She died in Wandsworth, Surrey in 1886 aged 88. Is anyone else researching this name in Cork - I realise, of course, that it's a not uncommon name, so there are probably thousands of Mary Ragans! James LIDDY, her husband, was, according to the 1841 Census, born in England, but I believe that his family was also Irish further back. Hope to hear from someone.
