There is a search facility on a limited record set now available at the PRO website. Use 'Search the catalogue' at http://catalogue.pro.gov.uk/ If you enter cork militia in 1 you should get 181 hits. All but a handful of these refer to records in WO 97, (WO = War Office and WO 97 are the Soldiers Discharge and Pension Records). Of course these returned entries are not the records but merely a descriptive heading but they will give you the name, usually the place of birth and any other regiments the man served in together with the date to which the records refer and the full WO97 catalogue reference.
