In just over a year, the Shamrock Tombstone Transcription Project ( a Special Project of the IrelandGenWeb and WorldGenWeb which began from an idea on the SHAMROCK mailing list) has 383 entries. This project is for transcriptions of tombstones anywhere -except- Ireland which list a place of origin in Ireland. You do not have to be related to them to list them, I listed a few I literally fell over while looking for my own family. Listing any of these may help others..... and it's our intention to help others by listing as many as we can. There are many listings from Australia, and many from different US states. The database is searchable by location, surname or other keywords. So during this summer or anytime you are searching old graveyards.... and you find one that says Ireland on it... please consider jotting it down and listing it with the project. **Please note, it -must- have a place in Ireland listed or it will be taken off the board. Also, it is not for -asking- for information, those posts will also be taken down.
