    3. Hi I have on an ancestors headstone "born Johns Grove, Cork, Ireland" (Joanna O'Neil, died oct 25, 1865 age 62 Milford, Ma. U.S.A.) Is Johns Grove a town? Does it have a new name, and how would I go about finding the catholic churches of that town? Thanks, Rose

    3. Rose, I read with interest your email on the County Cork site. My GG Grandparents are John and Margret SULLIVAN O'NEIL who came to Canada from Ireland on or before 1830 and settled for a time in By-town - now the city of Ottawa. John O'NEIL was born May 1807, Drinagh Ireland - now Dreeny. The following is a quote from my Granddad John Martin O'Neil: "Extracts from a letter to John O'Neil from his sister-in-law Flora Sullivan dated Sept 11th 1850, Dreeny, Ireland (now Drinagh, County Cork). In this letter she advises them the daughter they left in Ireland when they sailed for Canada passed away six months later. She also informs them that the two daughters of John's sister Mary had gone to the USA. The name of one was Johannah O'Neil and her address was Leominister, Mass. She also mentioned a brother-in-law Corneilis Sullivan." The name Johannah O'Neil and yours of Joanna O'Neil intrigues me. Could they be the same? The dates would probably be correct. I am wondering if you have any information on the O'NEIL line. I have been looking for information on John and Margret SULLIVAN O'NEIL from Drinagh Ireland - any help would be great. I do have information forward.
