For one entry it looks like Ballynamoney and the other entry it looks like Ballinamoney. Seaching on the net I also find Ballymoney. Are they the same place? And is this a parish or a town? 3. Ballymoney civil parish is located a few miles west of the town of Bandon. If you look at the map at: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~sharonmh/Haggertie/images/KilmeenAreaMap86.jpg The Bandon river crosses the area of the map near the top. In the extreme upper right is the townland of Knockaneady and there is a cross on the map which marks the location of the old protestant Ballymoney parish church (the blue grid lines are 2 km apart). The church has been closed for some time, and the area is now part of the Kinneigh Union of parishes. I'm afraid I don't know the status of the RC churches in the area. The nearest village is Ballineen, a km northof the church (the first 4 letters of the name are just visible at the extreme upper corner). My ancestors served as parish clerks in the area for over 100 years. 1. [CO CORK] Updated Irish Gleanings web page - Connecting people to townlands in Ireland
    2. Sheila
    3. I've have been researching the US State Department records at the US National Archives. These paper documents frequently identify the townland connected to a person as well as a location in the United States and names of relatives. These records only exist for a small number of Irish people and only for limited years. I have transcribed the names, places and dates from - 190 reports of the death of American Citizen who died in Ireland 1910-1928 posted 31 Dec 2009 - 670 registration of American citizens living in Ireland 1907-1928 posted Nov 2009 The web site location is http://sites.google.com/site/irishgleanings/ Look to the left side and click on the entry "Extracts from the reports on the deaths of American Citizens in Ireland 1910-1929." There can be a few documents earlier than the listed beginning year or later than the listed end year. Perhaps you will find a connection to a person you are searching. Use the search function of the web browser to locate names and places. If you don't find your ancestor listed search for their brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or cousins. Some of these people seem to have returned to Ireland for their permanent residence so their descendants may live in Ireland today. Hope this helps your search. 1. [CO CORK] Cork Examiner 26 September 1919
    2. Dennis Ahern
    3. >From The Cork Examiner 26 September 1919 -- CORK QUARTER SESSIONS ------ Licensing and Criminal Business The Hon. the Recorder, K.C., took up the criminal and licensing business of the above sessions yesterday. On the Bench with his Honor were:--The Lord Mayor and the City High Sheriff. The following Grand Jury was sworn:--Messrs. Edward Riordan (foreman), Michael Young, Martin Dalton, Alfred E. Edwards, Lawson Ferguson, William Roche, Patrick F. Scanlan, Robert H. Marsh, John Daly, Cleevehill; Michael Ryan, Adelaide Terrace; James Hayes, Merchants Quay; Wm. Heaslip, Wm. O'Donoghue. Addressing the Jury, the Recorder said there were only five cases to go before them. One was a case of obtaining the unemployment grant by false pretences, and there was another case against two men of malicious injury to property, consisting of the smashing of furniture in a house. These were two of the five, and the other three were ordinary larcenies. The cases were all of a class with which they had been in the habit of dealing and they would find no complexity about them, but as there were only thirteen jurors sworn it would be necessary on the back of the bills for the foreman and the other jurors to sign their names. The Grand Jury then retired, and mean time the long panel was called over. Transfers and confirmation of licenses were granted to the following, there being no opposition:-- Margaret Ahern, 17, Devonshire street; William John Cahill, 16, Prince's street; Nannie Carey, 25, North Main street; Joseph Fitzgerald, 1, O'Connell street (new license); Francis Harrington, 42 Shandon street; Catherine Hay, 28, Parnell Place; Kate Heffernan, 37 Bandon road; Briget Hegarty, 49 Commons road; James Henchy, 40 and 41, Wellington rd.; Norah Kelly, 21 Dominic street; Margaret Lennox, 354, Blarney street; Philip J.
