    1. [Cork] will index for 1915 and 1916
    2. Elizabeth W. Knowlton
    3. I was so excited about finding aunt Eleanor McCarty on the will index I had ordered at the FHC the other night that I forgot to offer to do lookups on it this month before the film goes back. I noticed wills leaving estates ranging from L15 up to L2000, and it included farmers although not farm laborers. Please put Will Lookup in your request to me and indicate place of death, occupation if you know it, spouse, etc, if it is a very common name. The person should have died between the end of 1914 up until Nov 1916. Please only ask for lookups if you are pretty sure the person died within these dates and could have left a will. It includes all of Ireland, not just Cork. Now, does anyone know where the Cork copies of wills were kept when they sent the originals up to Dublin (where they burned in 1922)? 3. If you have an LDS Family History Centre near where you live, you could try searching the yearly indexes to civil registration of births in Ireland around the years of interest. If the Centre does not have the films in stock they'll order for you at very little cost. The indexes give first and surname, registration district, and volume and page number in which the full entry can be found. The births indexes which start in 1864, won't give you the father's first name, but perhaps Brett is not that common a name in Cork? A photocopy of the entry in the civil registers from Dublin GRO costs about $1.50 (US). 1. [Cork] Names & Alias
    2. The Eddy's
    3. Hi Everyone: I have discovered the more you research, the more surprises you encounter! In reviewing Phillimore's marriages for Cornwall, Parish of Saint Just-In-Penwith, 1600s, I came across an entry for "Richard Edy, alias Ustick". There were many entries for Edy and its variations and Ustick and its variations. I have been looking for two Eedy brothers - Jonathan and Nicholas who were supposedly with Cromwell's foot soldiers. Upon further research I have discovered two entries in the Index of Protestation Returns, Liskeard Registration District, Cornwall, 1642 -- one for a John Eade and one for a Nicholas Eustis. [This index is found at www.cornish-ancestors.co.uk/Protestation%20Returns/index_protestation_returns.htm] Further research of the 1659 census for County Cork, notes that a Eustace was recorded in one of the following locations - "Youghal, The Towne of Moyalle, the Barrony of Kinalea". (Individuals are not named, only the "tituladoes" name .) Is anyone familiar with the name Ustice, Eustice, Eustace, especially as a variation of Eedy, Eady, Edy? regards, Susan Eddy Cobourg, Ontario, Canada
