Here is the address for the Clare Heritage Center. The full report is expensive, but well worth it if the records are there. clare.irish-roots.net
Hello All, Am desperately trying to rule in or out our Cork heritage. James Wall arrived in the US (Boston sometime before the birth of his first son in 1859. It is possible one birth preceded Benjamin. The names of James' children are Benjamin, Robert, Francis, Frederick, Loretta, if that helps. I cannot find a marriage certificate here for James and Maria. I believe Maria's name was Finneran but it might have been Breen. (Doubtful, but leave no stone unturned, right?) If any of these names rings a bell, please let me know. I would love to be able to send something definitive to Mallow so that I could find my dad's family's townland. Thanks so much, alice Researching Keedy, Carrigan, Wall, Finneran, Wynne, Carter, McClafferty, Breen, Whitely, Whitley, Cook, Rasmussen, Garvin, McHugh.

Perhaps my mind drifted 20 miles north into lovely Kerry. Dunno. But I have mixed-up those two before, at least in my mind and in my journals.....I hope not anymore. Pete

I used the Mallow Heritage Center and got wonderful results. They found a marriage, all the childrens baptisms, one of the childrens marriages and his children. I was very satisfied. I paid US $50 and another $25 after I got the papers. I think the money was well spent for all the information they proivided. The Church of Ireland building does still exist together with its adjacent church yard, but...The building is now a store (or at least when we visited about 5 years ago) for the local garage. The Church Yard contains a number of readable stones including that of my Gt.Gt.Grandfather - Joseph Rogers and next to it was that of Sarah (Robert Emmetts girl friend) and the daughter of John Philpott Cowan of the Priory, Newmarket, but I do not have any of the names from the other stones. My family lived at the Priory in the period 1810-1835. The Bad News is that the whole of the records for this church went up in smoke during the Irish Civil War of 1921/2..It didnt help my temper when I contacted the Representative Church Body to enquire about registers to be informed of the exact periods that had been held -- but were now destroyed!!!! To the best of my knowledge there were no copies made and held else where. Peter D.Rogers Looking for ROGERS,PEMBROKE,BRADLEY & HARRISON in Ireland, India and wherever else they laid their heads....

Thanks to all who responded to my queary on the Earl of Kingston. Thanks also to all replies about Mallow Heritage Center. I have recieved an extensive report on my fathers' side of the family from the Clare Heritage Center (which offers full service). I would like to do the same for my mothers' side. As Mallow Heritage Center does not have full genealogy service, does anyone know where I might be able to get a report of the same quality that I got from Clare for around the same price? Can someone please answer a couple of questions for me. The town of Newmarket is in the Parish of Clonfert. Is there a town or village called Clonfert? The Church of Ireland church in Newmarket closed many years ago. Does the church building or graveyard still exist? Graham at coward@alphalink.com.au writes: << The town of Newmarket is in the Parish of Clonfert. Its easternmost border is the River Dalua, and it extends its 260 acres to the west from there - and across the road from Newcastle to Boherboy. There appear to be no churches or church ruins in this townland, but there is an old burial ground. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts

Hi Mick, >I have just finished reading 'White Knights, Dark Earls, The Rise and Fall >of an Anglo-Irish Dynasty' a book by Bill Power about the Kingstons which I >got last month in Mitchelstown. It is published by The Collins Press >(www.collinpress.com) and is a fascinating read. Is this book indexed? BTW I could not find it on the Collins Press site. Kate
Can you help me locate Catherine born 1851 Ireland, possibly County Cork? Thank you. Barbara
Would anyone have the inscriptions from Dunmanway Cemetery? I am looking for the inscription on the headstone of a man called DAWKINS, buried in either a FORDE-DAWKINS or DAWKINS-FORDE plot. Mr. Dawkins was from Ballyshane near Cloyne, Co. Cork. Slán tamall Brendan Sisk http://brensisk.tripod.com/
Edward Sullivan b. abt.1820 & Ellen O'keefe abt. 1833 Sullivan came to America Abt. 1854. They came from Skibbereen, Cork County, Ireland They first settled in the state of Maine for about four years, than went to Virginia, but the Civil war was about to brake out. So went to the Gold fields of California. Lived in Grass Valley, California and raised nine children. Worked the Gold mines in and around Nevada City and Grass Valley. They are buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Grass Valley. From Edward & Ellen, there are about three hundred Irish Descendants. Most still live in California. From the Irish naming pattern, Edward's Father could be Dennis Sullivan and mother could be Anne. On Ellen's side her father could be James O'keefe and mother Ellen. Also she could have a brother named Eugene O'keefe. Thanks for your help....Apprecate Anything....and Everything Shirley Sullivan
