Author: sennagal Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.coulson/184.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi there, I have a Joseph Coulson born 1874 ish, in Middlesex/St Pancras/Marylebone area.(Inconsistency on forms was rather common I think!) I think his father was called Thomas, who may have been born around 1849. Joseph married and had at least 5 children, Joseph, Nell, Florence, Walter and Albert. Jospeph junior was in the Royal then Merchant Navy and he's my grandfather. Joseph went back into the Army at the start of WW1 and died in 1916 at the Somme when he was in his 40s. His first wife left him and the children before the war and he 'remarried' - and I believe when he was killed, his second 'wife' put his younger children into a care home.
