Coulson b. 8/26/1851 d. 4/23/1932 and Rachael Scott b. 12/13/1852 d. 9-10/1925, both of England. They had four children, three of which were born in England and one in Kansas City, Kansas, U.S. All of the men were coal miners in the States. They traveled several times, with the children to and from the U.S. back to England, settling sometime around 1902. They lived at different times in Center,Columbianana Co., Ohio, Kansas City, Kansas, Diveron, Sanganmon Co., IL, Glen Carbon, Madison Co, Collinsville, Madison, Co, Ziegler, Franklin Co.,IL and West Frankfort, Franklin Co. IL., most of these citiea/towns have coal mining fields near them. I was told that they may have been in a shipping buisness and shipped goods back and forth between the U.S. and England. Also that at one time Thomas E. and Rachael had money, but after her death Thomas lost interest in life. All of the sons never talked about life in England except to say it was very difficult and wouldn't speak about it. Thomas E. and Rachael Coulson are both buried at the Old Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, Franklin Co.,IL. Thomas Alexander Coulson: b.10/30/1882 England, d.1960 Franklin Co. IL buried in Benton, Franklin, IL Lived in Zeigler,Franklin Co.,IL. Wife: Margaret Brewer Children: Thomas L., Rachael, and Ina. James Coulson: b.1887 England, d. abt. 1960 in West Frankfort, Franklin, IL. He lived in West Frankfort, IL Wife: Edith Field(s) b.2-8-1889 England d. 4-1987 She immigranted around 1903 when she was 14 yrs. old. Children: James Coulson: b. 1908 d.9/1972 West Frankfort,Franklin,IL Jane Coulson b.6/25/1910 d.2/25/2002 West Frankfort, Franklin, IL married Glen George Jeter-divorced Margaret Coulson b.5/1/1917 d. 4/7/2003 West Franfort,Franklin, IL married James W. Sweet Robert Coulson b. abt. 1918 maybe lived in Indian near Indianapolis. Mary Alice Coulson: b. 2/18/1889 Kansas City, Kansas. d. 9/19/1929 from milk leg disease Lived in Zeigler,Franklin Co., IL Married George Henry Roberts b.4/20/1880 Wales, England d.5/13/1955 in Union County. Children: George, Victor, Ethel, Violet, and Alfreda Roberts. I know the least about Rachael Scott and Edith Fields, even though I knew Edith for awhile as a child. They didn't really talked about their past. Any information on these individuals would be greatly appreciated. There are two other descendants from the other branches working with me and they are finding the same difficulties researching this family line.
