Hello there, Thank you for the message. My problem is that I have a marriage in 1818 or near there, of Jesse Coulson to one Anne Ratton in the village of Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire. I have been uinable to find a baptism in Lincolnshire on the 1841 he say's he is born in County and he is dead by 1851. About six years ago I came accross a will for Ann Ratton's father in hibaldstow and as he only had daughters all of them were listed plus their husbands. To my amazement the name given for Ann's Husband is Joshua. I then went to the IGI and found only three Joshua's who might fit with a birth date of around 1792. One in Coventry and one in London, in High Holborn. I wentr down to The Metropolitan archives and checked it out to find that his father was also Joshua and that he was born in Caxton Cambridge. I was unable to find anything more about Joshua born 1792 in London. I then asked a cousin who claims to know that we have relatives in Cambridge, but none of my other cousins seems to have this idea, for details which he was unable to give me so another cousin went to Cambridge to check out the Caxton Coulson's but came back with nothing. I am specifically looking for details of what happened to the Coulson Family in Caxton in Cambridge especially the Joshua born around 1760's hoping that somebody will have looked at this line and can point me in another direction. My tree starts with Jesse aka Joshua in 1818 and from there on all but one either stay in Hibaldstow or marry locally. One only goes to Sheffield in 1860's and sets up a builer in Walkley. Here's hoping that you have bumped into this family. I have not found the birth record for Henry but believe he married in Whittlesey. After Susannahs death, he definately married Mary Gore in Whittlesey. My line comes from his marriage to Susannah, but I have numerous records for the Coulsons in Guyhirn, Rings End and March including the surrounding areas which I need to piece together. Any and all information you have would be appreciated. Is your tree published anywhere that I could see?

His grandfather was a native of York County, Penn., and owned three fine farms in the county, but retired from active life several years before his death, in 1839, at the age of seventy-four years. The father, Daniel, was brought up on the farm, and in 1841 he removed from Adams County, and purchased 170 acres of improved land, and forty acres of woodland. He had a family of five children: Joseph, Henry, Susannah, Emanuel and Franklin. Joseph Menges went to Adams County with his parents in 1841, when only eleven years old, and worked on the farm until he was twenty-five years old. In 1855 he removed to York County, where he now resides, and possesses about 105 acres of finely cultivated land, and twenty acres of woodland, the greater part of which he made by his own industry and economical habits. Like all the Menges family, he belongs to the ! Lutheran Church, of Adams County. In 1855 he was married to Elizabeth Coulson, daughter of William Coulson, of Adams County. They have five children: Sadie, Mary, Alice, Marshie and Josie. Mr. Menges takes an active part in school and township affairs. Hi I am trying to find out more information about William Coulson, who married Elizabeth Whitehouse 3rd August 1851 at St Thomas's Birmingham. The marriage certificate says he was a bachelor of full age, a sadler(?) living in Washington Street. His father was John Coulson, a baker. A scan of the certificate is at http://privatewww.essex.ac.uk/~alan/family/images/documents/marriage-92a.jpg<http://privatewww.essex.ac.uk/%7Ealan/family/images/documents/marriage-92a.jpg> The only William Coulson listed in the 1851 census of Birmingham St Thomas was a lodger at 35 Granville Street (which runs parallel to Washington Street), an unmarried stamper aged 18, born in America. That might be the right man, but isn't obviously so. Elizabeth remarried (as Elizabeth Coleson, a widow) in Dudley on 6th February 1854, so William may be the William Colson whose death is listed in the SEP quarter of 1853, Dudley vol 6c page 64. Does anyone recognise this William, and can tell me more about him, please? Thanks Alan
