This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team We are presently setting up email groups at https://groups.io/. If there is interest in migrating this list to groups.io please respond to this message to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di
I just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim "Pops" Jackson
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Jim (Pops) Jackson and have been given the privilege of acting as List Admin for the COULSON List. I have been active with Rootsweb for nearly 20 years and have received great pleasure in doing so. I hope this message will help spur renewed activity with offers of helpful information, requests for help etc. Obviously this means that Rootsweb is back in active status after a period of difficulties that have been dealt with and needed upgrades made. If you have not already done so, you may register at https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/postorius/lists/ and be able to see all the lists to which you are subscribed as well as control how your messages are delivered, etc. I hope to hear from you soon with your comments, information and questions. Best wishes, Jim

He is deceased in 2013. Don Coulson married Edith (unknown maiden name) in the early 40's and then went off to war. He was taken prisoner and served time in Dachau Concentration camp. They were divorced while he was serving and Edith likely married again, changing her last name. The daughter, Judy, born about 1942-43, would be my first cousin. I can find no records or information on either of them, likely because I don't have the last name. If anyone knows where they may be, please e-mail me. Alaboroflove@verizon.net. Don and Edith met and married in or around Tulsa, OK. I believe Judy was born there or in Claremore. Any information is appreciated. I would love to share family information with her and invite her to the family reunion! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Although I have tried, I have not been ble to find any info about her, all we know is that she had a brother Brian. And that my father was born in 1959 in Lancashire and has never met her. She seems to have just disappeared. Its unlikely that the Brenda in your family is the same one. But it's the first time both Brenda and Brian have appeared in the same post. ?? My mother, Lilian Dudash, nee Reynolds, was the daughter of George Washington Reynolds and Anna Connor. Sol Coulson was Anna Connor's grandfather. Unfortunately this is all I know. My mother used to tell me stories of Sol Coulson's detective abilities in solving cases for the Pittsburgh Police. My name is Linda Dudash and I was born in Pittsburgh (Morningside neighborhood) in 1946. How are you related to Sol? Obviously, we're relatives at some level. Glad to know you.
