Khandi, I saw your email posted on the Couch web site. I can help thanks to the research effort of Vivian Evans of Sunbury, Ohio. Your Elihue was a brother to my John Preston. John Preston and brother Sylvester moved to northwest Arkansas in the 1890s. Nephew George, son of Elihue, followed his uncles to Arkansas as well. Sylvester lived the remainder of his life in Arkansas. My ggrandfather John P. moved on to Mayes County, Oklahoma, in the 1920s to secure better medical care. George moved on to the Mena, Arkansas, to live the remainder of his life (more than 100 years). Vivian gave me her notebooks of Couch information much of which I have entered into Family Tree Maker software. If you have this this software, or would be willing to buy it ($30-40), I could send you a CD with the information I have. And I'd be glad to share what other information I have. Through Vivian Evans, I discovered I was a cousin to Kenneth Dean whose mother was an Elihue Couch. Kenneth grew up in Maryville, Tennessee, attending Everett High School. My wife is from Maryville. I married Jane while a student at the University of Tennessee. Jane's best high school friend was Kenneth's sister Pat.
