Robert, According to Ellen's research, I am a descendent of John Couch, born before 1748 in Jamestown colony, Virginia. His father was Captain John Couch, born in England. Ellen's James, another son of Captain John, was born in England. That says to me that Captain John came to the Jamestown/Williamsburg area of Virginia in the early 1740's. It's unlikely that John and James were the only children Captain John had. Does the 1740s dates fit what you know about your early America ancestors? If James and John moved to Buckingham County, it's likely that their siblings moved elsewhere and could be your ancestors. That would make Captain John DNA Group 5's common ancestor. cousin Richard of Tulsa
