    3. Sam, I want to send you the enclosed listing of the earliest Couches I have found in the Colonies. Can you relate our Couch line to any of these? Your analysis and that of others would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps you can find a clue that has eluded me. Someone in this group may just be our common ancestor for the Group 5 DNA Couches. Land next to John Stroud. 1754 Thomas Couch receives land grant in Orange County, NC. From Granville Proprietary Deeds and Surveys Oct 23, 1754. John Sroud Jr gentleman, three shillings on Old Field Creek of waters of New Hope. 13 Shillings rent per year. Surveyed May 14 1753, by Matthew Couch and John Stroud Sr. 1755 James Couch born.
