There were a couple of Jonathans. One in Knox County, TN but no census for that county in 1810 and 1820. He volunteered for the War of 1812 from there and signed a marriage bond for Jane Couch (his sister?) in 1815. Another Jonathan Couch appeared later in Lincoln County, TN> Haven't made a connection yet. Hope this helps. Nolene
