    3. Sam, Thomas Couch received a land grant in South Carolina about 1768. James also got a land grant about that same time along the Enoree river. Dr. Richard Couch of Oklahoma is another group 5 DNA member and his family came from Buckingham County Virginia which is not too far away from Ashe County, NC. So, I agree the first Couches must have been around Southern or Western Virginia. But Where? Robert H. There was two migration paths into ole VA west of the mountain range form PA and east into easten VA Libarary of Va is full of info. "Couch/Crouch" Also Current Russel Co va
