    1. Re: [COUCH] Martin Couch KY Line
    2. Joyce I have been unable to find any proof that the Joseph of Knox County, TN was the Joseph of Ashe County, N.C. There is "circumstantial" evidence that they appear to be one and the same. Jane COUCH who married Rowland Blankenship Dec. 1815 in Knox County, according to the census records was born in N.C.ca 1800/ We know both Joseph and John were in Ashe County in 1800 and also 1810. Timothy COUCH was born in N.C. (census) about 1802. He and Jane could have been brother and sister as later (1830 census) he was in White County, Tn when Jane and Rowland moved there - near him - from Madison County, Al. They left Knox County and moved to Madison County about 1817/18. At the same time Jane was in Knox County, there was a Joseph there and also a Jonathan. Jonathan signed the marriage bond for Jane and Rowland. Timothy named a son Joseph. I'm working on the theory that all the above Couches were related and were from Ashe County but could surely use some help. There seems to be lots of research on the Ky group of COUCHES but the Knox County group has been on their own. I agree it would be a bitg help to know who John's siblings were. Anyone out there able to add to this? Nolene
