To All, I appreciate your response to my question. One of my distant cousins had at one time a copy of the family pages from a bible supposedly belonging to his grandfather William Cox, which listed Susan Couch as wife of John Cox. This was the beginning of my research on Susan Couch Cox, I have sense been told by members of other branches of the family that Susan Couch was married to John Cox. I have also been looking at the possible connection between Susan and Edward Couch, son of Benjamin Couch. I have Susan born between 1780 and 1790, in S.C.. In several posted histories of Benjamin Couch, there is reference to a daughter born in that time frame, as well as Edward. I haven't had access to the 1850 census, but on the 1860 census Edward Couch is living next to Susan Cox, ( her husband John died in 1853). Several daughters of both families carry the same female names, i.e. Susan, Nancy, and Eliza/Elizabeth. I know that DNA tests are suppose to run through the male line, and it is unlikely that I can trace my line of Couches this way, but by asking the question, I have gotten more responses than I've had sense I started on the list. I think that has got to be good for everybody. Thanks, Eddie
