From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, March 22, 2004 3:37 PM Subject: Couch history Dear Mr. Couch: I came across an article on Newburgh, NY town history that showed that on 11/24/1824 the sloop "Neptune" coming up the Hudson from New York sank near Pallapel's Island. There were 55 on board, 16 were saved. It said a "Mrs Couch" and two children drowned. I have not been able to determine who Mrs Couch was. The local history dept of Newburgh could not locate any information on her. Do you have any record of a Mrs Couch and two children who all died 11/24/1824 off of Newburgh? Thanks. Garth Coombs
