Jerry Lynn Couch Family-Placed Obituary Jerry Lynn Couch, 68, of Austin, TX, was surrounded by family when he left this world on Sunday, April 18, 2004. Lynn will be remembered affectionately by his family and wide circle of friends. Lynn never met a stranger he couldn't befriend; his quick wit and wry smile could brighten a room. And, he always had room on his lap and in his heart for his cherished grandchildren. He was born on January 1, 1936, in Wellington, TX, to Orval B. and Marian Sewell Couch. A graduate of Texas A&M College, Class of 1958, Lynn's blood ran maroon until the end. He maintained strong friendships with Aggie classmates throughout the years and attended every class reunion. After graduation, Lynn served his country as an officer in the US Army. He then sold insurance for Aetna Life for several years. In 1965, he joined NRECA based out of Washington DC as a field representative until his retirement in 1998. Lynn moved his precious wife, Sue and three young daughters to Austin in 1974. After nine years battling the bitter Kansas City winters, Lynn was ready to move back to Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Marilyn. He is survived by Sue, his wife of 45 years of Austin; his sister, Carolyn Stothart of Natchitoches, LA; his brother-in-law, Bill Besser of Dallas; his daughters, Sherrie Anderson and her husband, Jerrold of Houston, Loree Ching and her husband, Brian of Louisville, KY, and Julie Blades and her husband, Chris of Austin; and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Ashlyn Anderson, Tony Edwards, Nicholas and Jamie Blades, Katie and Zac Ching. A Memorial Service honoring Lynn's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 11512 Olsen Drive, Austin.
