Thanks Kathryn, and thanks too for all the data bases on Lunenburg. I just got back from there and what you have was far more informative than what I learned on my trip. I could have stayed home and just depended upon you. However, seeing Lunenburg VA and Couches Creek there where our Thomas Couch lived as early as 1720 was worth the trip. Really thrilling. My earliest Alabama Couches were recorded in Madison County, Al (then Mississippi Territory) on January 9th, Mississippi Territory Census. Counted were four Couches. John Couch Sr, John Couch Jr. and Thomas Couch. All three I thind were mine. John Sr was father to Thomas who is mine. All three of these Couches had 162 acre farms on Indian Creek which flows into the Tennessee river. There was also a Nicholas Couch there at the time and he lived on Flint River. FAMILY oral history holds that my Couch family came to Alabama from Tennessee. A. J. Drew Couch and his mom also have our John Couch coming to north Alabama from Tennessee. Bill Couch believes that my folks were in Lincoln County, Tennessee. As you recall when we first met you in Shelbyville, TN I was looking for those Couches (not Bedford Co Couches) but finally just gave up since I could not find any. Now, I think I need to look again. Let me know where best to Look for Couches in Lincoln County, TN. Take care and thanks for all your contributions to Couch research.
